A vaccine is a type of medicine that trains the body’s immune system so that it can fight a disease it has not come into contact with before. Vaccines are designed to prevent disease, rather than treat a disease once you have caught it.
This video is part of a three-video series focused on the origin of vaccines, how they work, and their role in public health. These videos were produced in collaboration with high school students at San Francisco public schools and the University of California San Francisco (UCSF).
A joint Urdu dubbing project of Mashal Books and the Eqbal Ahmad Centre for Public Education with generous support from Nasser Ahmad / The i-Care Foundation.
