Prominent scientists and educationists of Pakistan paid glowing tributes to Nobel laureate Prof. Dr. Adus Salam at the seminar organized by Mashal on the occasion of Salam’s fourth death anniversary in Lahore on November 20, 2000.
Dr. Pervez Hoodbhoy, Chairman Mashal, described him as an icon and by far the greatest Pakistani physicist, one that is born in a hundred years. Salam’s contribution is so great that when the history of the 20th century is written, he will be one of the very few who will be remembered. All others will be forgotten.
Dr. Ghulam Murtaza, Dr. Anis Alam, Dr. M. H. Qazi, Mr. Shehzad Ahmad and Syed Meenu Chehr also highlighted Dr. Salam’s contribution towards science and science education.
