Pi (π), perhaps the most recognized number in mathematics, has a very rich and vast history found almost in every civilization. This number has captured the imaginations not only of children of 6th grade, but also the giants of physics and chemistry. In this session, Usman Rafiq shall have a historical look on this number and its significance in science and engineering. This lecture would be interesting for children and young college students, with some surprising facts about this number. About the speaker: Usman Rafiq did his Bachelors from UET Lahore in 2006 in Electrical Engineering and M.Sc in Computer Engineering from UET Taxila, and M.Sc in Electrical Engineering from UCP. He is Assistant Professor in COMSATS, Lahore since 2013. He has authored a book “Riyazi: Kainat ki Zubaan”, published in 2022.
